According to an official source from the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, there are plans to suggest the allocation of a special quota for skilled and semi-skilled workers from Pakistan for NEOM and other future projects. Furthermore, a proposal has been made to Saudi Arabia for the development of a cutting-edge Skill University in Pakistan, which will further unite the two countries in their efforts towards economic progress. According to him, the main topics of conversation included training Pakistani workers to meet the increasing demands of the Saudi job market and improving their abilities and expertise through collaboration. The Ministry has suggested a joint effort between the Embassy of KSA in Islamabad, the Consulate General (CG) Karachi, and Pakistani authorities to aid the arrival of new Overseas Employment Promoters (OEPs) in the Saudi industry.
The purpose of the delegation visit at a senior level is to synchronize the workforce of Pakistan with the economic transformation program of Saudi Arabia, as part of Vision 2030. This will establish a robust partnership for the mutual advantage of both countries. The visit intends to improve essential remittances, which play a significant role in maintaining Pakistan’s economy and supporting families who solely rely on these monetary inflows. The main objective of the visit is to promote cooperation and investigate potential employment prospects for Pakistani workers in Saudi Arabia.
